50 Hectares of Vineyards

Our estate is located west of Lisbon, near the town of Dois Portos, and everything about it has to do with the defining conditions of the area. The windy Atlantic conditions create a special freshness and minerality in the wine. The Atlantic Ocean is only 25 km away, and the properties of the soil are so close that it is possible to produce wines that are absolutely original, showing fresh natural acidity and minerality. Folgorosa has almost 50 hectares of fields located at an altitude between 200 and 300 m above sea level, which also contributes to the cool climate.

For some years now, we are gradually implementing the organic practice in the vineyards, in order to respect the environmental balance. All production is grown organically, part of it is certified organic and the remaining fields will be gradually certified. By 2024 all our 50ha of vines will be biological.

Since the beginning of Lindeborg Wines, Quinta da Folgorosa is based on sustainable principles and practices, always bringing the best that is in each grape, each vine and each wine, avoiding the excessive use of pesticides and other pollution agents, in order to find truth and authenticity in wines.

Recycling Water

Quinta da Folgorosa has several wells, which are being used so that all the water that comes from the rain goes to these wells. Therefore, we reduce the use of water not only for use in the Winery but also in the vineyards, which turns out to be a way to maximize the use of water, reducing costs and helping the planet.

We are working so that in the future we have a small ETAR that treats and recycles this water and allows us to use it in more areas.

Recycled Capsules

LW will replace all PVP capsules with PET capsules and complex with AGL. These PET capsules have particularities that will make all the difference in the path we take towards sustainability.

They are recyclable, with a thin strip that allows the capsule to be removed completely, not leaving it in the bottle, which will allow the bottle, after drinking it, not to go to the trash with the capsule, allowing us to recycle and with-it new capsules from the old ones.

The AGL has a much smaller carbon footprint, so the way it’s made is the better for the earth.
