1. Alicante Bouschet

A short uphill walk through Folgorosa village.
As you approach and reach the crossroad at the top, turn left and walk up onto the field.
Take left before the sign named “Galinheiros/Alicante Bouschet” and walk downhill along the wines for 50 meters (with the road you walked up, on your left side.) until you reach the Eucalyptus trees and the Cabernet Sauvignon picnic spot.

Facts & Curiosities about the Alicante Bouschet grape variety
Alicante Bouschet is a French red grape which is more commonly used in Portugal than in France. This red grape variety is among the few that have red flesh instead of white which gives much more colour to the red wines.
Quinta da Folgorosa has approximately 2,5 hectares of Alicante Bouschet which was planted in 2003 and 2010.
2. Cabernet Sauvignon

A short uphill walk through Folgorosa village.
As you reach the main road at the top, carefully cross the road and follow the path along the stonewall on your right side.
Walk approximately 100 meters until you see an opening in the wall, and enter the other side. You have reached the Cabernet Sauvignon picnic spot.

3. Arinto

A short uphill walk through Folgorosa village.
As you approach and reach the crossroad at the top, turn left and walk up onto the field.
Continue along the wines towards the windmill with the main road on your right side.
When reaching the windmill at the top, walk left down through the vines for 50 meters at the sign “Galinheiros/Fernão Pires”. You have reached the Arinto picnic spot.

The Arinto wine was mentioned in literature by great authors like William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Lord Byron and Eça de Queirós.
